2012 LOBBY DAY

Marsy's Law for Illinois, Lobby Day, Illinois Capitol, March 8, 2012
Join Crime Victims and Victim Advocates as we make history in Illinois! Marsy’s Law for Illinois, HJRCA 29, passed in the Illinois House of Representatives 116-2 on Feb 8, 2012. Now we need the Senate.
There is no remedy in Illinois when a victim’s rights are violated. HJRCA 29 makes victims right enforceable. This constitutional amendment is supported by Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office, the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ICASA), the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV), and many other state leaders, community organizations, and law enforcement.
Marsy’s Law for Illinois will provide transportation from the Chicago area, leaving at 6 a.m. on Thursday. We will have free tee-shirts, buttons, literature, breakfast and lunches in Springfield for all who can join us to in the final push. Travel reimbursements are available for those who need them.
Spaces are limited. R.S.V.P. ‘s urgently needed, especially for transportation.
